リベロセラ、追加出資ラウンドで総額7.2億円の資金調達に合意
リベロセラ株式会社（以下「リベロセラ」）は、この度、既存投資家である、Taiho Ventures, LLC（以下「Taiho Ventures」）、MP
Healthcare Venture Management, Inc.
(以下「MPH」)、及び東京大学協創プラットフォーム開発株式会社（以下「東大IPC」）の3社を引受先とする総額7.2億円の資金調達を実施することに合意したことをお知らせいたします。また、2024年7月31日付けで、MPHの小沢将太氏が取締役に就任いたしました。
Gタンパク質共役型受容体（GPCR）等の膜タンパク質を標的とする画期的な医薬品創出を目指すバイオ創薬企業リベロセラは、本日、既存投資家である、Taiho
Ventures（カリフォルニア州メンロパーク）、MPH（マサチューセッツ州ボストン）、及び東大IPC（東京都文京区）の3社からの総額7.2億円の追加資金調達に関する契約を締結しました。
リベロセラは2018年の創設以来、創薬標的として注目されながら、その複雑な立体構造による精製の困難さや、難発現性などの理由で創薬困難とされていた膜タンパク質標的であるGPCRに対し、抗体医薬品や抗体・薬物複合体（Antibody-drug
conjugate）等の画期的な医薬品の創出に取り組んできました。今回の追加資金調達により、リベロセラでは、創出した医薬品候補の治療薬としての可能性を細胞や動物モデルを用いて検証し、非臨床開発から初期臨床開発までシームレスに実施できる体制の更なる充実をはかり、創薬研究開発を加速させます。

LiberoThera Closes 720 Million JPY of Additional Funding to Accelerate the
Discoveryand Development of its Antibody-based Therapeutics
Tokyo, Japan, 1 August 2024 – LiberoThera Co., Ltd. (“LiberoThera”), a
biotechnology company dedicated to the generation of new therapeutics targeting
membrane proteins including G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs), announced the
agreement of a total of 720 million JPY financial investment from existing
investors, Taiho Ventures, LLC (“Taiho Ventures”, Menlo Park, California), MP
Healthcare Venture Management, Inc. (“MPH”, Boston, MA), and UTokyo Innovation
Platform Co., Ltd. (“UTokyo IPC”, Bunkyo, Tokyo). In conjunction with the
financing, Shota Ozawa, Ph.D., Director at MPH, joined the LiberoThera Board as
a Director.
Since establishment in 2018, LiberoThera has been dedicated to the generation
and development of antibodies and antibody-drug conjugates (ADC) against
complexed transmembrane proteins including some GPCR families. This round of
financing enables LiberoThera to accelerate its seamless drug development
capability from discovery and proof of concept of drug candidate to preclinical
and early clinical development of the therapeutics.
